When do you need an electrical certificate (CIE) in Catalonia?
You need one when activating a new supply, increasing power beyond what the installation allows, or when the installation is over 20 years old and your utility requests it.
The most frequent requests lately are upgrades for electric-vehicle charging and for heat pumps, which usually require more power and dedicated lines. We solve it with one quote that includes the paperwork with the grid operator.
Upgrading the board vs. rewiring the whole installation
Quick answer: If the wiring is post-1990s and in good condition, upgrading the board is usually enough; with old cloth or aluminium wiring, full rewiring is the only safe option.

Between €120 and €250 depending on power and condition, paperwork included. Any board upgrade is quoted separately, in writing.
